FOOD DRIVE
This year's recipient of the PetFest food drive is the Rescue Bank, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization committed to supporting the animal rescue and rehabilitation community with much-needed supplies and services.
Operating on the “food bank” model, Rescue BankSM is a collection and redistribution point for surplus pet supplies and donations. We are working to relieve area rescue groups and fosters of one of their most difficult tasks- identifying and soliciting donors for the everyday supplies needed to keep their animals healthy.
DONATE YOUR OLD COLLARS AND LEASHES!
How many of those gently used collars, leads, and harnesses are laying around since you've purchased new ones for your furry (or maybe not so furry) friends? Don't know what to do with them? Donate them to Collars for Canines!
We give those collars and leads a new life by giving them out to rescue groups in the area for their foster animals. Bring on the gently used and new collars, leads, harnesses! Make a lifetime of difference in that animals life! Boxes will be placed for collar/lead collection around the PetFest area.
PET PSYCHIC, LISA GREENE
Do you want to know what your pet is thinking? Lisa Greene, the practical pet psychic, will be back again this year doing personal readings. She does not just tell you your pet likes treats - she gives you information you can actually use about behaviorial issures, medical issues, etc. Lisa has been on numerous radio and television programs and has had many articles written about her ability to communicate with your pets. She has clients worldwide so we are lucky to have her back in Spring this year. To read about her services and see what her clients have to say, go to her website at www.petperceptions.com. She gets booked up quickly at PetFest so preschedule an appointment with her at 281/497-8073. You do not have to have your animals present to get a great reading!
SERVICES OFFERED AT PETFEST
Many booths, both rescue booths and vendors, are providing services for your pets this year including:
Microchipping
Low Cost Vaccinations
Ear Cleaning
Wellness Clinic
Each booth sets their own prices but most are much lower than what you would normally have to pay. Many are giving a portion of their proceeds back to the PetFest Rescue Group Drawings.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
On of the most popular parts of PetFest is the Blessing of the Animals by our wonderful minister, Deborah Taliaferro. Her heart-felt prayers for our pets are a great way to start the day at PetFest. Blessings will be done on Saturday and Sunday so please check the schedule for times.
